Soccer game

Saturday was Dylan's first soccer game. We're doing soccer in Germantown (our old community) for Dylan this year. They put all of the kids on a team and they start each Saturday with 30 minutes of learning and drills and then 30 minutes of 3 on 3 play. There's no goalie and they don't keep score. Unless you're Dylan and suddenly you learn to count that you made 5 goals. Of course if anybody else scored, or if the other team scores it prompts tears because he wasn't the one that scored.

We were trying to explain that not everybody scores all the time and it's a team effort. Mark started to tell him that Alex didn't even score a single goal until his last game of the season, but I don't want to compare them.

Dylan did a great job. He's really good at following where the ball is and had no trouble getting right into the fray to kick the ball away. He had trouble following directions from the coach, but otherwise he did really well.

The best part was the absolute look of joy on his face the entire morning. He was having the best time. He's been waiting for 3 years for it to be his turn to play. What a great morning!

How fun! It's kinda tough sometimes for those little guys to figure out the whole team thing instead of just them. Life lessons, hey?

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm doing much better...just keep forgetting to take those meds. :) You're so glad to take them when you're in misery, and as soon as you feel better, it's "Oh, well!"
